Sad but needed to say that I will be taking the next 2+ months off writing articles in order to focus on my studies.
The final exam for the WSET Diploma will be taking place in early January 2018, which gives me just over two months to knuckle down, hit the books and commit as much as I can about the world of wine to memory (not to mention tasting and taking notes!)
I have not studied this hard in my life. Ever.
I say that as as a fact, not out of pride or shame. I really did not push myself through secondary school because a) it was mostly uninspiring and b) I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up (and who would recommend “sommelier” as a career path to a teenager?)
Not to mention my stupid Arts degree which was done more out of obligation than anything else.
Now I am studying everything – biology, chemistry, geology, geography, history, meteorology, economics, law… and how all of this is connected to wine.
With so much to cover, it has been frustrating me that I have not been able to publish articles here as often. From the very beginning I wanted to publish a new article every week, at minimum, but with work and study in the picture I need to prioritize my life.
So I am releasing myself of this burden, at least for now. I want to focus 100% on this exam so that afterwards I can give back 100% of what I have learned to my readers here.
I may still post occasional updates on my twitter and instagram accounts so please follow me there if you have not already.
And I am always happy to receive emails from my readers – just send me a message through my contact page.
